Her parents are BERNARD L. BROWN and wife, SARAH L. THRIFT, daughter of ANDERSON DRURY THRIFT and wife, ELIZABETH SANDERSON of Wilson County, Tennessee.

She married JONATHAN "BUD" WILKINS on 10 Sep 1888 in Lavaca County, Texas. He is the son of JAMES KNOX POLK WILKINS and wife, MARY JANE ELIZA HIGDON, daughter of EZEKIEL HIGDON. Their names on the marriage license are J. H. WILKINS and A. J. BROWN and is recorded in the Lavaca County Courthouse.

It was passed down in the Brown family that Elizabeth Sanderson was of American Indian Ancestry. Also, in the Last Will & Testament of Wade Sanderson, he didn't refer to her as his daughter.

Maggie Angie Lee Wilkins (1898 - 1988)

GENNIE and BUD lived at (old) Sweet Home, Texas. Bud died 8 Oct 1898 in Karnes County, Texas according to family records. Daughter Maggie said her father died of tick fever, when she was an infant. You usually contracted tick fever by working and/or raising cattle. GENNIE made a living for her daughters by taking in washing and ironing. They ate only mush to survive until she remarried.

GENNIE married JOHN J. HOWE on 19 Feb 1906 in Karnes County, Texas. His parents are JOHN HOWE, SR., and wife, ALICE EDMUNDSON. He was born 1 Dec 1878 in Lavaca County, Texas; died 10 Nov 1942, Houston, Harris County, Texas; buried in Rosewood Cemetery in Humble. He raised Gennie's daughters and they thought a lot of him.
