|Death: ||Feb. 1, 1985|
Edward is the last of eight children of Eeltje Dijkstra and Mintje (Menna, Mina) Keuning (Kuening).
Edward lived in 1920 with his parents, 49 and 44 years aged, and his seven older siblings in Douglas County in the southeastern part of South Dakota. The family lived there since about 1907, firstly near Corsica and then at the Dutch settlement Harrison. Before that they lived since about 1897 in Minnesota, in 1901, 1903 and 1905 in Edgerton, Pipestone County. His parents married on 29 December 1871 in Orange City, Sioux County, Iowa.
In 1940 Edward (22 y, no occupation) lived still with his parents E. (69 y, farmer), and Menna (66 y) Dykstra and his sister Menna (27 y) at a rented farm at Harrison, Douglas County. In 1935 they lived at the same home and in 1930 the family resided in Harrison too.
Ed married on 29 December 1944 to Marjorie Vander Tuin. In December 1945 they had son Sylvan Henry Dykstra, born in Douglas County, in the southeastern part of South Dakota. They also had son Ernest Marvin and daughter Dianna May.
They lived probably from 1960 on in Lynden, Whatcom County, Washington. Edward worked in a plywood (= triplex) mill and retired in December 1980.
Edward Dykstra died in February 1985 in Lynden at the age of almost 67 years. His widow Marjorie died there in 2004.
