She was last of six children of Dr. Samuel Haynes Hazen and his first wife, Huldah S. Dodds. She was single.
Her gravestone shows her y.o.b. as 1839. Tracy Hazen's book, p. 599, shows the same date, but the year as 1841. The d. o. b. for her next older brother, William Delos Hazen, was shown in that book as 4 Aug. 1839, while his Memorial shows 4 Aug. 1837. It is assumed that the dates in their Memorials are correct, as they are both possible, and neither conflicts with those of siblings.
