Me married Johanne Andersdatter on September 30, 1845 in Blaker. After their marriage, they continued living in Blaker where their first three children were born: Maren J., Andrew M., and Amalia. In March of 1853, the family of five emigrated to America. After a 13-week crossing, they finally arrived in Quebec and then took another boat through the Great Lakes, ending up in Stoughton, Dane, Wisconsin. One of their little girls died at sea.
While in Wisconsin, Johanne gave birth to two more daughters, Josephine, born June 17, 1855, and Martha, born October 20, 1857. In 1861, the family moved to Vermillion, Clay, SD, then to Boone County, Iowa. Four more daughters were added to the family along the way: Iverine, Imelia, Thoris, and Julia.

2. Josephine Anderson Richman Watts
3. Martha E. Anderson born October 20, 1857 in Rock, WI; died May 6, 1948 in California. She married Swen Benson and they had seven children.
4. Julia Evelyn Anderson was born July 29, 1865 in Boone, Iowa; died June 24, 1937 in Porterville, California. She married Martin Erickson and they had five children.
In 1867, Andreas and Johanne returned to Vermillion where they lived out their lives. Andreas died just after his 70th birthday on October 26, 1889. Johanne was over 93 when she died November 17, 1915. They are both buried in Bluff View Cemetery in Vermillion.
