He and his wife migrated to Southwest Cove, and were the parents of at least fourteen children, five daughters (Anna Catherine, Susannah Margaretha, Sarah, Barbara, Rachel) and nine sons (John Peter James, John James, George Frederick, James Jr, Joseph, John George, Jacob, John J, Henry). His final resting place is unknown.
