French Sculptor. Known for having designed and sculpted in 1864, the statue of the Beata Virgin Mary of Lourdes located in the grotto of Massabielle. He had agreed to represent the Apparition as exactly as possible, according to data provided by Bernadette Soubirous, whom he interrogated for a long time about all the details. He sculpted several statues of religious genre, placed in some of the best known cathedrals of France.
