Italian Army General, Politician. Commander of the Ariete Armoured Division, after the armistice on September 8, 1943 he organized the resistance against the occupation Germanic. He was also Commander of the Corps Volunteers of Liberty during the partisan struggle, and Chief of Army Staff (1945). He was a Senator of Italian Republic from 1948 until 1963.
