Erna Brunt Faldmo
Erma is travelin' again. This time it is to a place she has dreamed about going for the last little while, and the best part is that she is with her favorite tour escort her husband Norman, and other dear family and friends including two grandchildren.
Erma passed away peacefully on February 2 at the home of her son Norman in Orem of causes incident to age.
Erma was born October 24th 1915 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Fanny G. and George A Brunt. Her childhood years in Idaho were always dear memories and she counted many close friends from Idaho throughout her life.
Because of a bout with rheumatic fever, she finished high school at East High in Salt Lake City. She attended Utah State Agricultural College where she met Norman Faldmo. They were married on October 5, 1936 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Erma and Norman lived in Salt Lake City until 1951 when they moved to Bountiful. In 1957 they were called to serve a labor mission for the LDS Church to Hawaii. At first reluctant to go, Erma soon fell in love with Hawaii, and found it almost more difficult to return than it was to go. This love of Hawaii and its people led Erma to organize a tour group back to Hawaii. Other tours followed and soon Faldmo Tours was born.
Erma and Norman escorted literally thousands of people, on hundreds of tour groups throughout the world. Erma's saddest day was when Norman passed away while they were with a cruse group in the Caribbean.
She was a pioneer of the travel and tour business in Utah with a career that started in 1962 and lasted over 30 years. Many thousands of people did and saw things that they may never have if it had not been or Erma.
Her greatest legacy and the one that brought her the most joy were her four children, all of whom survived her; Norman and Carolyn Faldmo Orem, Karen and John Foster Bountiful, Sunya and George Osborn of Spanish Fork and Mark and Beverly Faldmo of Farmington. Other survivors include her sister Betty Coles of Riverside, Calif., brother Steven Brunt of Idaho Falls, and 22 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be Friday February 6th at 11:00 AM at the Bountiful 9th Ward, 585 East Center. Friends may call Thursday Feb, 5th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, and from 10:00 am to 10:45 am on Friday at the 9th Ward. Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers Erma requested donations be made to Primary Children's Hospital.
The family expresses gratitude to all of her friends who have supported her by being so loving and loyal throughout her life.
