LATIMER - Louis W. Borcherding, 77, of Latimer, died Saturday (Aug. 29. 1981) at the Hampton hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Nazareth Lutheran Church. Coulter, with the Rev. Allison Hansen officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, southwest of Coulter.
Visitation will be after 2 this afternoon at Willim Funeral Home. Latimer.
Mr. Borcherding was born March 1, 1904, in Franklin County, where he was raised and attended Hamilton Township School. He married Sophie Larson on Aug. 21. 1929. They farmed southwest of Coulter until retiring into Latimer in August 1980. Mrs. Larson died in March 1972. Mr. Borcherding was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church, the Church Council, and the building committee for the church and parsonage. He was a past member of several boards of directors, including Franklin Consolidated Schools, Franklin County Farm Mutual Insurance and the Coulter Elevator. He was a past member of the Coulter Community Club.
He is survived by a son. Robert: two daughters. Mrs. Charles (Joyce) Jorgenson. Coulter, and Mrs. James (Janell) Ryken, West Des Moines; five grandchildren: two sisters. Mrs. Louise Pralle. Onalaska. Wis., and Mrs. Wilhelmina Paullus, Latimer, and two brothers. Aaron. Latimer, and Walter. Madrid.
