Charles Edward Kirkpatick, the son of Charles and Effie Kreie Kirkpatrick, spent his entire life in or near Stafford County, Kansas, except during World War II when he served in the Army. A graduate of Stafford High School, Charles raised cattle and farmed. On Jan. 26, 1944, he married --- --- near her family's home south of St. John. She survives. Other survivors include a son, a daughter and four grandchildren. Charles was a member of the Stafford Methodist Church, Stafford American Legion, the Stafford County Genealogial Society and Stafford Development. Also, a past member of Stafford Lions Club, Stafford Saddle Club, Wichita Barbed Wire Assoc., American Hereford Assoc. and past member of the board of directors of St. John Coop.
The Rev. Kasey Crosby officated at his funeral on Monday, 11 a.m., at Minnis Chapel, Stafford. Memorials to the church, local historical society and hospital were suggested.
