Mrs Susan D. Barnard
The death of Mrs. Susan D. Barnard occurred at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. E.H. Breath, on Quality Hill, Saturday evening. Mrs Barnard was ripe for the reaper, as she was approaching the eighty-fifth mile post in a well spent life. The deceased was born in Pennsylvania and moved to St. Louis with her husband, Charles Barnard, where they resided until just before the late war, when they came to Canton. Mr. Barnard died in 1875. Mrs. Barnard's maiden name was Davis, and she was a descendant of a Welch family of Quakers. Out of a family of eight only three survive the mother, Dr. Barnard and Mrs. Breath of this city, and a daughter, Mrs Henry S. Eaton, residing at Shipman this state.
The funeral will be held at the residence of E.H. Breath Tuesday at 2:30.
