MARK BUFFUM DIES SUDDENDLY
Life Long Resident of Putman Township Dies After Long Illness
Mark A. Buffum, for over sixty years a resident of Putman Township died quite suddenly Monday about 11 o'clock from dropsy. He had been in poor health for several years. He was sitting in a chair at the time of his death and passed away quietly without suffering. He was 69 years 8 months and 7 days old.
Deceased was born in Ohio, his parents being Amos and Lucinda Warfield Buffum. He came to Fulton County, Illinois, when young Mark was young and he grew up on a farm in the south part of Putman township where he lived until his death.
About 45 years ago he married Phoebe Bird and two children were born to them, a daughter died in infancy. The only living child is the son, Curtis, who lives on the home farm and with whom the deceased made his home, his wife having died about thirty-five years ago.
Besides his son, Curtis, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Eva Taylor, of Cuba, Mrs. Clark Munson, of Bernadotte and one brother, Dan, who lives in Pasadena, Calif.
The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at the home of C. D. Taylor, conducted by Rev. A. H. Dickerson and burial was in the McNeil cemetery on the Lewistown road.
