Born November 19, 1933, in Elizabeth, NJ, he was a son of Nicholas and Mildred (Swidnak) Domanski.
He was a United States Navy veteran, honorably serving his country from 1951 until his discharge in 1959.
Robert lived most of his adult life in California, moving to the Cobleskill area in 1993 with his wife, Margaret. For thirty years he was employed by AT & T in Sonora, CA, starting as a linesman and working his way to retiring as a sub contractor.
He was a sports fanatic and an outdoor enthusiast. In his spare time, Mr. Domanski was a cabinet maker. He was of Catholic faith.
Bob will be remembered for his excellent sense of humor.
He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret, who died March 26, 1998, and his son, Robert L. Domanski, Jr., who died October 16, 2008.
Survivors include his daughter, Dori DeCann of Hyndsville; a sister, Elizabeth Haiber of New Jersey; five grandchildren: Robert Domanski and Travis Domanski, both of Carthage, MO, Annette Domanski, Matthew Domanski, and Jenna Domanski, all of Richmondville; and two nieces and two nephews.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery in Cobleskill. Officiating will be SND Connie James of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Cobleskill. There will be no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
