This is the location of the Thomas Fearn Family cemetery which contains family members as well as many slave grave sites. It is presently in danger of being destroyed by the city of Danville for an industrial park expansion. The site is in bad repair and the tombstones have either been destroyed or are not readable. Thomas Fearn was one of the founding fathers of the city of Danville in 1793

Fearn Plantation in Danville, Virginia was the last capital of the Confederacy. Thomas Fearn purchased the land in 1783 from William Wynn, both of whom were founders of Danville, Virginia. On the land is a historic cemetery where a tombstone still reads "...(Read more)

This Forget-me-not is for the many slaves that lived, worked, and died at the Fearn plantation and subsequently were buried in unmarked graves on site. Likewise it is in memory of the Fearn family members that are also buried in the family plots.
