She confessed Christ uniting with the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church where she was baptized by Rev. Brian D. Hunter. She loved to travel and experience activities with her grand children i.e. Amusement Parks and their football, baseball games. Her favorite drive was to Los Angeles to visit family. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, doing puzzles and working word search puzzles. During the war she worked at the Richmond Shipyard. Later she worked at the University o9f California, Berkeley where she started as a Maid in the dormitories. She was part of a group that challenged the University to open better jobs to female workers. She was very active in the Union. She retired after 32 years as Foreman in the Custodial Department at the University. She enjoyed working Part-time as a Crossing Guard for the Berkeley Unified School District.
She departed this life on June 26, 2010 and was preceded in death by Clarence Sr, and Almotine Patterson (Parents); Louis Blane (Husband); Delores and Henry James (daughter/son-in-law); Damon Williams Jr. (Great-grandson); four sisters; Alice, Cecilia, Lois Patterson and Eloise Thomas; four Brothers: Emmet, Clarence Jr. and Herbert Patterson.
She leaves to morn her passing one Brother Clifford Patterson (Mary Patterson) of Chicago, Illinois, grand children; Gregory, Demanus, Norman, Ramont (Renita Esclovon-James), Christy (Alex Hollins), Angela James (Michael Thompson). Great Grand children; Demarcus ad Michelle Burnett, Danita Esclovon, Tyree James, Henry Grant, Brandi James, Norsharra James, Mikianne Thompson, Delores and Janae James, Skyla, Sanaa James, Ezeanie Thomson. Great-Treat Grand Children; Myjana Mosley, Damani Burnett, Jason Wooley, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
