Deceased Name: Bernadette Bright "Bernie"
HARRINGTON - Bernadette "Bernie" Bright of Harrington formerly of Baltimore, died Saturday, July 31, 2004, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 76.
Mrs. Bright was born in Baltimore, daughter of the late Elmer Paul and Katherine (Toulan) Hipsley.
She loved her home and preferred to be known as a domestic engineer.
Mrs. Bright always had time for everyone and especially loved children. She could always be found telling the kids a good story. She would never lie to the children, earning her the trust of those who knew her. Bernie was the best listener and could always provide a solution to even the smallest problem presented to her. She had great faith in her Lord. Her opinions were always based on the Scripture from the Bible and were valued by everyone. She was an avid listener of the TV evangelists and gospel singers. She had a way with animals. Known as the Cat Lady, she loved all animals, domestic and wild. She would take in those stray animals that did not have a home. She would care for those animals that were injured, whether it was making and applying a splint to an injured bird's wing or just nursing the animals back to health, until they could return to the wild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Hipsley.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Ralph Bright; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements by McKnatt Funeral Home, Harrington.
