Elsie Evaline Anderson, mother of Mrs. Dick (Emma) Wagner,
passed away in a Seattle Hospital on Wednesday, July 27th.
1955. Mrs. Anderson had been in poor health for a year, most
of which time spent in her Kent home.
She was born in Beresford, South Dakota. In 1901, she was
married to Bernhardt W. Anderson, and they came to
Washington state about 15 years ago. For fine years they
made their home Zenith and have lived in Kent the past 10
years. In 1951 they celebrated their golden wedding
anniversary with a gala party of family and friends at the
Grange Hall wast of Kent. She had been a member of
the Rebekah Lodge, including five years in the Des Moines
Chapter and transferring to Kent chapter when they moved
Surviving besides her husband are three sons; Ralph Anderson
of Kent, Elmer of Gooding, Idaho, Clarence of Jerome, Idaho;
four daughters, Emma Wagner of Des Moines, Elsie Brookbank
of Twin Falls, Idaho, Agnes Bell of Richland, Wash., and
Lavina Spencer of Gooding, Idaho. also a brother Albin
Andersen of Monterey, California; 16 grandchildren and 14
The funeral was held Monday, August 1, in the Kent Funeral
Home with the Rev. Ormeyer of the Kent Methodist church
officiating. Interment was in the Kent Hillcrest Cemetery.
The Sympathy of our Des Moines community surley goes
out to both Dick and Emma Wagner as we recall that it has
been only a short time since Dick's father passed away.
