John E. Cliburn, 58, a seismic powder man, of Mendenhall died at his residence on January 11, 2007. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
Funeral services were conducted from Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall at 2 p.m. on January 13, 2007. Interment followed in Merit Cemetery, Mendenhall.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Cliburn; daughters, Stephanie Smith and husband Ronnie, April Stovall and husband Roger, and Amanda Cliburn, all of Mendenhall, and Diane Cliburn of Pearl; sisters, Letha Moorehead, Louise Ray, Mary Lou Hughes, Jeanie Fulton and Tammy Cliburn, all of Mendenhall; a brother, James Ray Cliburn of Wilmington, Ohio; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Wauldeen Cliburn, and by his parents, James "Buck" and Corine Welch Cliburn.
