DECATUR REVIEW - 09JAN1916 - JOHN CAMPION, OLD RESIDENT, DEAD - SURVIVED BY WIFE & 9 CHILDREN
John Campion, aged 65, a resident of Decatur for the past 35 or 40 years, died at the Wabash hospital at 11:02 o'clock Saturday night. He had been ailing for the past 4 months & underwent an operation at the hospital a week ago last Tuesday. The end came peacefully.
Mr. Campion was a father-in-law of Fred Tauber who was killed about 5 months ago while working at the Wabash. Up until the last year or 2 Mr. Campion has been working as a coal miner. At the time of his death he was an employee of the Wabash locomotive shops.
Besides his wife, Mr. Campion is survived by 9 children. They are William Campion of Decatur, Mrs. John Wilson of Decatur, Mrs. Ed Mitchell of CA, Mrs. James Bain, Mrs. Louis Long, Mrs. Fred Tauber, Richard, Michael & Marguerite, all of Decatur. Mr. Campion resided at 559 East Ave.

The funeral of John Campion will be held at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning at St. Patrick's Catholic church. The services will be conducted by Rev. Father J. Murphy. The interment will be in Calvary.

The funeral of John Campion was held at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning at St. Patrick's Catholic church. There was a large attendance, the church being almost filled with friends. The services were conducted by Rev. Father J. Murphy. The music was furnished by Miss Margaret Muleady & Ed Hays. The flowers were in charge of Miss Mollie Cuttle, Miss Hannah Keating, Mrs. John Oldridge & Mrs. James Hise. The pallbearers were Robert Sweeney, Mark Walsh, William Meehan, Thomas Clark, Michael O'Donald & William Powers. The interment was in Calvary.
