Virginia, USA
Death: Dec. 23, 1816
Bedford County
Pennsylvania, USA

Daniel Beegle was presumed to have been born in Loudon County, Virginia on August 8, 1781. He was the youngest son of Charles (Karl) and Catherine (Holler) Beegle (Biegel). He was only three years old when his parents migrated from Loudoun County to Friend's Cove, Bedford County in 1784. Daniel was united in matrimony with Juliann Long, who also was born in Virginia on July 11, 1786. They were the parents of eight : Catherine, Charles, Solomon, Benjamin Franklin, Eliza Ann, Philipine, Frederick Daniel and Rebecca.
"Their married life was spent together on a farm in Friend's Cove, where Daniel made farming his main business in life and had taken much interest in everything pertaining to agricultural development... After his death, Juliann made her home with her son Solomon... being a widow for more than 45 years. They are both buried in Twin Brick Church cemetery in Friend's Cove. - from "History of the Beegle Family in Bedford County Pennsylvania". By Frederick Demont Royer. 1973. publisher: The Bedford Gazette, Bedford, Pennsylvania. pp5 & 437.
A further quote from page 5: Daniel's father, "Karl Biegel,(Charles Beegle)is buried at the Old Brick Church and his grave is marked by a common mountain stone, lettered crudely in a mixture of German and Pennsylvania Dutch. The work was doubtlessly done by a local neighbor or friend. He is the oldest marked grave in the cemetery. The large monument erected (c. 1923) is very easy to find, being behind and near the old church. On one side is reproduced in German the original marker and the statement the monument was erected to the original pioneer by his descendants, the Beegle Reunion Association." Daniel's mother, Catherine (Holler), and sister, Catherine, "were believed to have been buried in the same cemetery, but no tombstones have been secured for them as we have no records of their deaths."
