GEORGE S. HOGAN
George S. (Tiny) Hogan, , age 81, of Iuka died Saturday, December 18, 2004 at Via Christi Regional Medical Center St. Francis Campus, Wichita.
Mr. Hogan was born January 18, 1923 at Medicine Lodge, Kansas, the son of the late George Sylvester and the late Nora Lee (Moomau) Hogan.
He served in the Army during World War II as a Staff Sergeant in the infantry and received 2 Purple Hearts. He belonged to the VFW and American Legion in Pratt.
He was an en exceptional father who loved to dance. He was a retired oil well pumper, owned and operated Hogan's Ditching, and worked 23 years for K.P.&L. as a chart changer.
He moved to the Iuka area from Macksville in 1979.
He is survived by two daughters, Gloria Taylor of Macksville, and Maria Angle and husband Rodney of Anthony; one son, Fred Hogan and wife Kathy of Cullison; and one sister, Hazel Tillotson of Attica. He has 12 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Carl Hogan and two great grandsons.
Graveside service was Wednesday, December 22, at Iuka Cemetery, Iuka, Kansas, with Pastor Carey Haner officiating. Military Honors were by U.S. Army, Fort Riley, Kansas.
Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association or WWII Memorial Fund in care of the Larrison Family Mortuary, Pratt, Kansas.
