William Henry Martin, son of Benjamin and Anna Martin, was born in Adams county, Indiana, April 10, 1849, and passed away at the home of his niece, Mrs. John Kidd, in this city, on August 20, at the age of 81 years, 4 months and 10 days.
Mr. Martin's early life was spent in the state of Indiana, moving to Wisconsin in he year of 1869 and settling on a farm in the township of Bloom where he made his home until 1910 when he moved to this city.
Mr. Martin was united in marriage to Miss Malinda A. Long in the year 1874, and to this union were born two sons, namely, Willard and Elgin. Mrs. Martin was called by death Marth 12, 1924, since which time Mr. Martin has made his home with his sons and other relatives.
He leaves to survive him his two sons, Willard and Elgin, one sister, Mrs. Cathrine Long, eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, besides a host of friends.
The funeral services were conducted from the Lunenschloss-Doudna Mortuary by Rev. D. O. Dietzman, Saturday afternoon and the remains were laid to rest beside his wife in the city cemetery.
