Ed Boyd, 72, 400 Shelby St., Bristol, died late Saturday, July 4th, 1998 at Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, Tn. Born in Russell County, in Dante, Va. He moved to the Tri-City area at an early age. He retired from Bristol Nursing Home having worked in the maintenance department. He was of the Assembly of God faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Annie Boyd; and a brother, Bernard Boyd. Surviving is his wife, Mrs. Elsie Rosenbaughn Boyd; a foster daughter, Mrs. McLinda Marty; two sisters, Mrs. Ellaree Fletcher, and Mrs. Lorraine Banks; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. at Carter Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Danny Baines officiating. Pallbears will be nephews.
