Aged Pioneer Called Home
On June 14, 1922 at San Diego, Calif., occurred the death of Mrs. M. S. Simpson a pioneer of the west and a woman admired and loved by everyone to whom she became known.
Her body was brought to Jackson and services were held at the St. John's Episcopal church, with Rev. M. D. Nash of Idaho Falls officiating. Burial was made in the Aspen Grove Cemetery, at Jackson.
Margaret Susan Sullivan was born on January 2, 1846, at Union, West Virginia. Her family moved to Iowa and when 16, she crossed the plains to Colorado with her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
On December 22, 1866, she married John Porter Simpson, at Bergen's Park, Colorado.
Jackson, Wyoming was her home from 1893 until 1907. She lived at Lander, Wyoming until 1914 when she moved to San Diego, California, where she died.
Her husband passed away on Sept. 3, 1921. Surviving her are one sister, four sons and two daughters.
