A vigil service for Florence J. Rasmussen of Lynden will be held at 7 tonight at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lynden. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am Friday at the church, with the Rev. Woody McCallister officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Sumas. Mr. Rasmussen died Monday, Nov 15, 1999, at St. Francis Extended Health Care. She was 83.

Mrs. Rasmussen was born July 4, 1916 in London. On June 9, 1945, she married August Rasmussen in England. He died earlier this year.

Mrs. Rasmussen was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Lynden and Daughters of the British Empire. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

Her son Stephen Rasmussen preceded her in death.

Survivors include daughters Jennifer Salazar and Debbie Brassfield, both of Bellingham, and Theresa Hickey of Lynden; son Gaylon Rasmussen of Bellingham; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many other relatives.

Memorials may be made to either the Whatcom county Hospice or St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lynden. Arrangements are by Greenacres Funeral Home.
