GEORGE A. BALA, 81, DIES IN HOSPITAL
George A. Bala, 81, of Fair Haven died Tuesday in Oswego hospital where he had been a patient for the past nine days. He was the son of the late James and Sophia Bala. Mr. Bala was born in Michigan, but had been a resident of Fair Haven for the past 55 years. He was a carpenter foreman for the Lehigh Valley Railroad, retiring 16 years ago.
Surviving are his wife Martha of Fair Haven, four sons, James C. of Sterling, Howard of Red Creek, Kenneth of Hemlock, Michigan, and George of Midland, Michigan; one sister, Mrs. Stanley Whiting of Rodeo, California; one brother, James Clifford of Odessa, Florida; twenty one grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren;and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Becker Funeral Home, Red Creek, at 2:30 p.m., Friday. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery. The Rev. Raymond Ginther of the Sterling Methodist Church will officiate.
Friends may call at the Becker Funeral Home Wednesday evening and Thursday afternoon and evening.
