Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Bartholomew, 70 years old, of Steel Lake, who died Saturday, will be held at 11 o'clock tomorrow in the chapel of the Home Undertaking Company.
Mrs. Bartholomew, born in Michigan, had lived in this area 47 years.
Surviving are her husband, Franklin Bartholomew, a son, John P. Bartholomew, Auburn, and a brother, Bert Phillips, Michigan.

Notation by Chris Wade Via Ancestry.com. I found a reference in an old Berrien County history book that mentions Abram I Phillips as son of Jerome Phillips and Anna Vanarsdall b NJ. Abram's brother John V Phillips was b in Bethel, Ontario Co, NY on Feb 17,1824. John was an attorney in New Buffalo, Berrien Co MI. Other siblings included Isaac M (lived in Niagara Co NY), Margaret d at age 22, Mary J who m. Mr. Dean, Jerome who d. at age 5, William, and Lyman T who was killed in Civil War. If this is of interest, I can send you the link to the reference book.
