OCTOGENARIAN ANSWERS CALL
PIONEER RESIDENT OF WAPELLO COUNTY PASSES AWAY AT HER HOME.
Mrs. Catherine Chisman, widow of the late John J. Chisman, 114 South Schuyler street, passed away this morning [sic - Death record and Shaul’s records show she died Monday, June 30, 1913] at 4:10 at the family home. Mrs. Chisman had been a resident of Wapello county for over fifty-nine years, being one of the early settlers here.
She is survived by five children, George and D.E. Chisman of Ottumwa, William P. Chisman of Albia, S.K. Chisman of Blakesburg and Mrs. Mary Forsythe, who resides three miles south of Ottumwa.
The funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon at the family home, 114 South Schuyler street. The services will be conducted by Rev. J.F. Robertson pastor of the Willard Street Methodist church, and Rev. D.C. Smith. Interment will be made in the Shaul cemetery.
