MRS. ETHEL C. ARTHUR

Mrs. Ethel Arthur, 69, 3101 Walnut Street, died yesterday at 4:20 in a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at Alabama City of God with the Rev. A.V. Beaube officiating.

Interment will be in Forrest Cemetery, Collier-Butler Funeral Home in charge.

Active pallbearers will be the Rev. E.F. Hodge, Clabe Speakman, Leon Yancey, Charles Hayes, Ernest Watkins and Frank Patton.

Surviving are her husband, John F. Arthur; two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Adkinson, Gadsden, and Mrs. Joe Weeks, Hobart, Ind.; seven sons, J.E. and George Arthur, both of Hammond, Ind.; E.F. Arthur, Glencoe; Lee and E.G. Arthur, both of Gary Ind.; W.C. and R.B. Arthur, both of Gadsden; two sisters, Mrs. Virgil Penland and Mrs. Lila Schaffer, both of Gadsden; four brothers, R.S. and Hoyt Williams, both of Gadsden: Louie and Roy Williams, both of Birmingham; 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Arthur was a native of Cherokee County and a resident of Etowah County most of her life. She was a member of the Alabama City Church of God.

The body will remain at Collier-Butler Chapel to lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the services.
