Eureka Frazer Bowne has been called a tall willowy blonde. She is very famous. She invented the first successful street sweeping machine used in New York City. It was patented in 1879. She had another invention patented in 1898 for a nonrefillable bottle.
Eureka married David who was a hatter that landed a job in NYC working for MACY's as director of the book and stationery department.
Eureka is mentioned in the book "Mothers and daughters of invention: notes for a revised history of technology
By Autumn Stanley".
Eureka outlived David and moved back to Trenton, where she eventually came to rest.
