John Colin Blackstone, born August 28, 1942 in Massillon, Ohio to Francis and Grace Blackstone. He died on October 3, 2007 at his home in Mead, OK. John attended Jackson High School where he graduated in 1960. He lettered in football and went on to play semi-pro football for the Tiger Town All Stars in Massillon and for the Cleveland Browns Farm League. Until he moved from Ohio in 1994 he was an active member of the Ohio and Northern Quarter Horse Associations and until his death still was an active member of the American Quarter Horse Assoc. He raised, bred and showed Quarter Horses for 35 years and was an active Quarter Horse Breeder for over 40 years. While still in Ohio, he held yearly Quarter Horse Shows at his ranch in Dalton. He enjoyed showing his cars winning in Massillon 3 years in a row. He loved dancing with his wife, Sandy and spending time with his family. John was preceded in death by his father and younger sister, Linda. John is survived by his wife, Sandy Keen Blackstone; two daughters, Rebecca Gall of Medina, OH, Jackie Blackstone of Canton; two step-daughters, Shannon Stock, Shriver of Wooster, Stacy Jantzi of Clarksville, TN; three step-grandchildren; one sister, Charlene Cora of Bluffton, SC; one brother and his mother. His ashes will be returned to Ohio at a later date. Social Security Death Index Name: John C.
