Mary "Kathleen" Seymour Glass, 81, of Columbia died peacefully Friday, Sept. 30, 2005, at her home.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, at Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Jones and the Rev. Clarence and Virginia Forsberg officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Horeb Cemetery in Sturgeon.
Mrs. Glass was born Nov. 26, 1923, to Thomas and Gladys Seymour.
On Dec. 14, 1941, she married Robert W. Glass, and he preceded her in death.
She graduated from Sturgeon High School in 1941.
She was a member of Sturgeon Methodist Church since 1963, formerly from Pleasant Grove Methodist since 1937, where she served as trustee, communion steward and on the committees of history and records, altar and nominating. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women.
Mr. and Mrs. Glass owned and operated Superior Laundry and Bob's Masonry. She was also manager of Gold Bond Redemption Center and Ronnie's Beauty Salon in her earlier years.
Kathleen was well known for her sewing expertise and delicious desserts.
Survivors include a daughter, Glenda Kaye Sapp and her husband, Terry; two grandchildren, Denise Nelson and her husband, Rick, and Nathan Sapp and his wife, Anjee, and two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Nelson and Brittany Nelson, all of Columbia; two sisters, Jean Sapp of Ashland and Jane Tinker of Centralia; one brother, Dale Seymour of Florissant; several nieces and nephews; and two aunts.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Betty Lou Patrick; and two brothers, Billy Seymour and Thomas Seymour Jr.
