Born Oct. 18, 1930, in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Jesse E. and Gladys (Kelley) Arnold. He was also preceded in death by two sisters.
Mr. Arnold was the owner and operator of Arnold Funeral Home, Petersburg, for 25 years. He was a member of Petersburg Memorial Church of the Brethren. He was also a member of the Petersburg Fire Company for 30 years, where he served as president and vice president. He served as mayor of Petersburg for eight years.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Helen (Click) Arnold; two daughters, Becky Buchanan of Gig Harbor, Wash. And Margaret Arnold of Harrisonburg, Va..; one son, Joseph Arnold of Petersburg; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were Dec. 12,, at Petersburg Memorial Church of the Brethren, with the interment in Lahmansville Cemetery, Lahmansville.
