Louis V. Burlo, 88, Sturgeon Bay, died Saturday, September 12, 2009, at Golden Living Center/Dorchester in Sturgeon Bay.
He was born Feb. 14, 1921, in Sturgeon Bay, the son of the late Charles and Grace (Richard) Burlo. In 1949 he married Nora Werkheiser at the United Methodist Church. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Louis worked at Christi Corporation, ran his own painting business, worked for Wulf Propane and PBI until his retirement. He also worked as a Pinkerton for various businesses around Sturgeon Bay. He especially enjoyed visiting with people he would meet, and that would include the customers on his delivery routes for the Milwaukee Journal and Advocate subscribers. He loved taking friends and family out to eat with him.
Survivors include his son, Louis Jr. (Lynn) Burlo, Sturgeon Bay; five grandchildren, Jennifer Blaschek, Algoma, Jessica (Steve) Bongle, Algoma, Kipp Burlo, Caroline (Steve) Maccoux, Lynn Medrano, all of Sturgeon Bay; eight great grandchildren; sister, Margaret (Pat) Lake, Sturgeon Bay; two brothers, Tom (Gloria) Burlo, Iron Mountain, Mich.; Charles (Marilyn) Burlo, Shawno, sister-in-law Evelyn Burlo, Sturgeon Bay.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Ruth Ann Paul (July 5, 1988), and brother Wallace Burlo.
