Subject was baptized August 15, 1886 at Sacred Heart Church in Loretto, Tennessee. Received First Holy Communion and Confirmation Sept. 18, 1893, also at Sacred Heart Church. He and his wife were married August 1, 1911 at St. Joseph Church in St. Joseph, Tennessee. He is the father of seven children (2 sons, 5 daughters; two of the latter became nuns in the Order of St. Benedict and two were stillborn). TVA electrician. Cause of death: Bright's disease. Funeral Mass celebrated Feb 14, 1944, St. Joseph Church, Sheffield, Alabama. Fred and his wife Mary died on the same day, exactly 35 years apart.

Funeral Services are Conducted on Monday
Frederick C. Beckman, aged 57, 1610 26th St., Sheffield, died Saturday at 11:35 a.m., at the Colbert County hospital. He was born in Loretto, Tenn., but moved to Florence where he stayed for a short time, later making his home in Sheffield where he has lived for the past 30 years. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Sheffield.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Beckman; two sons, Paul Beckman, U.S. Army, somewhere in the Pacific, and Arnold Beckman, U.S. Coast Guard, somewhere in the Atlantic; three daughters, Sister Mary Cornelia O.S.B., Sacred Heart convent, Cullman; Mrs. Vincent Geise and Miss Cecilia Beckman, Sheffield, five brothers and three sisters.
Services were held Monday morning at 9 o'clock at the St. Joseph's Catholic church with Father Osmond, O.S.B., officiating. Interment followed in the Catholic cemetery, Tuscumbia, Brown-Service in charge.
Pallbearers were J. Farley, Ted White, Roy Williams, Tony Malaspino, Ed Staley and Hartwell King.
