She was the daughter to Captain James M Hamilton. She married Captain Thomas Anderson on February 20, 1820. His marriage with his first wife, Grey Cloud, ended in 1813 as he refused American citizenship and had to move to Canada. Thomas sent for his two children with Grey Cloud, wanting to see them receive a formal education. This probably means that Elizabeth, at 25 for this marriage, graciously accepted these step-children into her home while she went on to have her own seven children from 1821 to 1836. She was in nearby Cobourg, enjoying the new town in the highlights of modern postrenovation after 1812 war, when she suddnly died at 62 years of age. This was the same day that her husband had officially retired.
