Erasmus Easton was the youngest son born to John and Sarah Easton just before the family moved to East Leon Cattaraugus before 1830. He was a life long farmer who had obtained his own farm by June 20 1860. The NonPopulation census of that year records his farm:
"Total Cash Value of Farm $2,200, Farm Impliments and Machinery $60. Live stock $675. 1 horse, 18 Milch Cows, 2 working Oxen, 1 other cattle, 2 swine, 45 bushels Wheat, 132 bushels indian corn. 250 lbs Maple Shugar,4000lbs Cheese, 1800 lbs butter"
Erasmus' farm was about 1 mile east of his older brother Ahimaaz's just north of 42nd Steet (Easton Leon Rd.) Ahimaaz Easton's farm had been the oringal Easton homstead which he inherited from his father (John) when he passed in 1855. It was land from Ahimaaz's farm that was used to form the Easton Leon Cemetery.

It is believed Erasmus is probably buried in the East Leon Cemetery. This Cemetery is overgrown in brush and will take addtional investigation (2013).
