GLASGOW - Eddie Junior Geron

SMITHS GROVE - Eddie Junior Geron, 48, of Smiths Grove, died Thursday, May 27, 2010, at The Hospice Center of Southern Kentucky.

The Barren County native was the son of the late Ed Clayborn Geron and Eva Mae Walker Geron Emmitt and her husband, Earl. He was a carpenter and of the Presbyterian faith. He was a proud fisherman and hunter and a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine Humphrey Geron of Smiths Grove; two daughters: Amanda Geron Akers of Smiths Grove, and Stephanie Branstetter Guardado and her husband Mario of Bon Ayr; four grandchildren: Skyler Marin, Sarah Guardado, Jacqueline Guardado, Joselyn Guardado; one brother: James Geron; one step brother: Donnie Wayne Bragg; four sisters: Margie Ford, Joyce Slade, Sandra Gillenwater and her husband Perry, and Kathy Hughes and her husband Jody and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Sue Geron; a brother-in-law, Bill Slade; and a step brother, Carter Bragg.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, May 30, at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel, with burial in Old Zion Cemetery at a later date. Visitation is 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hardy & Son Funeral Home, 3098 Louisville Road, Bowling Green, KY 42101.
