An Archeological Survery of the Knobs State Forest, Bullitt County, KY, by M. Jay Stottman did a thorough investigation of the Grable Cemetery and inventoried all the graves. This grave was recorded by them. I am assuming it is a relation of George Newman who owned the property in the late 60's until 1873. I do not know the identity of this person, or the sex.
The Grable Cemetery is located on the South side of Crooked Creek Road, in Knob State Forest which is located in the Southern part of Bullitt County, Kentucky. It is on private property behind a locked gate. There is another way to access the cemetery, crossing a creek and a field and then climbing up a steep creek bank. The cemetery is covered with vinca and some of the gravestones have been broken by cattle. It is now fenced to keep the cattle out.
