Will of John Turner deceased
In the name of God,Amen. I, John Turner of Northampton county, in the province of North Carolina, planter, being sick and weak, but of perfect mind and memory, thanks to Almighty God for the same, and calling to mind that it is appointed for all men once to die, and having a mind to dispose of my estate which it hath pleased Almighty God to bless me with. I give and dispose of the same in manner aforesaid. First I give my soul to Almighty God that gave it me, and my body to be buried in such Christian burial as my Executors shall think fit, and then all my just debts to be paid, and then I dispose of the rest as in manner aforesaid. Itiem first, I give to my daughter Nancy Sheffield, five shillings proclamation money. I leave the use of my land and plantation with all the rest of my estate, to my wife Mary, during her natural life, and then I give and bequeath the same land and plantantion , with all other part of my estate, to my daughter Luesa, to her and her heirs. I leave my daughter Luesa and William Mabry, Executors to this my last will and testament, made this 7th day of december 1770.

JJOHN SHEFFIELD (SHEFFIELD1) was born Bet. 1720 - 1734, and died Abt. 1790 in Died leaving a will in Duplin. He married (1) NANCY TURNER Abt. 1754. She was born Abt. 1730 in Nancy Turner is found in Will of her father 1770. He married (2) ELIZABETH GRADDY September 29, 1779.

i. EPHRAIN SHEFFIELD3 RWS, b. 1755; d. June 22, 1835, Todd County Kentucky; m. BARBARA HARRIS, October 18, 1782, Duplin County, NC; b. 1766.
ii. WILLIAM SHEFFIELD, b. 1764, Duplin County, NC; d. Abt. 1840. This William lived in Pulaski County and is not William of Bulloch. William of Bulloch is likely the son of William Sheffield who was the son of William Sheffield of Northampton. This son William probably married Delilah? And had son William of Bullock, She died and he subsequently married Sarah? And they lived in Duplin and had sons Amos and John who married the Brooks Brothers in Duplin. This family is always trying to connect with John of Duplin, but that is incorrect!
iii. NANCY SHEFFIELD, b. 1766; d. 1840; m. JOSEPH SCREWS, August 18, 1789.
iv. LOUISA SHEFFIELD, b. 1768, Married second time to JAMES GARRETT, SR., 1805; d. 1840, Alabama; m. THOMAS WILLOUGHBY HAMMACK.
v. MARY (POLLY) SHEFFIELD, b. 1770; d. 1845.
vi. CATHERINE "KATY" SHEFFIELD, b. 1772, 2nd WILLIAM CASON, December 22, 1821, Laurens County, GA; d. 1845; m. IGNATIUS GRANTHAM, October 09, 1810, Wayne County, GA.

He married (1) PERMELIA PHILLIPS December 10, 1811 in Laurens County, Georgia, date from records., daughter of DANIEL PHILLIPS and ELIZABETH UNKNOWN. She was born September 05, 1796 in Early County, Georgia, and died April 25, 1854 in Early County, Georgia, picture of gravesite in Photos. He married (2) ELIZABETH CAROLINE PHILLIPS December 24, 1854.
