Memorial services for Rena L. Burkholder, 91, of Newville, will be held at 3:30 p.m. today in Zion Lutheran Church, 51 W. Main St., Newville.
She died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, in Green Ridge Village, Newville.
Born May 7, 1912, in Penn Brooke, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Cora (Burkhart) Lauver, and the widow of Samuel J. Burkholder who died in May 1978.
She and her husband owned and operated Burkholders Pharmacy in Newville for more than 40 years. She also was a bus driver for the Capital Area Intermediate Unit.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Golden Rules Sunday school. She was also a member of the Golden Age Club, the Civic Club and the Newville Senior Center. She was an associate member of the Pennsylvania Retired Teachers. She also sang with the Happy Tones.
She is survived by a daughter, Naomi Helman of Carlisle; a half-brother, Paul Lauver of Carlisle; a half-sister, Jean McCory of Penn Brooke; two granddaughters; several nieces and nephews; and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Snare and Ruth Regett.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Egger Funeral Home, Newville, is in charge of the arrangements.
