ROCKFORD - Pearl A. Grutter, 93, of Rockford, died at 6:15 a.m. Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, in Maple Crest Nursing Home after an extended illness.
Born Aug. 11, 1907, in Pecatonica, the daughter of Frank and Amanda Johnson Lindquist. Married Earl Grutter in Rockford on Dec. 16, 1950: he died in 1975. She was a beauty operator, employed at various beauty salons in Rockford over a period of many years.
Member of Alpine Lutheran Church and the Yellow Bird Warblers. Survivors include son, Lewis Grutter of Arizona; sister, Della (Louis) Guenzani of Rockford; five grandchildren, Ronald (Margaret) Grutter, Kinberly Baer, James (Jeanine) Grutter, Cindy Taylor and Todd (Lynn) Grutter; nine great-grandchildren; special nieces, Cindy Gustafson and Carla Stevens of Rockford; daughter-in-law, Pamala Baer of Paw Paw; and several other nieces and nephews.
Predeceased also by parents; son, Gary Grutter; and three brothers.
Services at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19, in Wilbur Christenson Funeral Home, 925 Third Ave., with the Rev. Jack Cave officiating. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Creston. Visitation from 9 a.m. to service time Friday in the funeral home.
