On or about 1744, Laurence married Jean Murphy (1726-1789) who bore thirteen children - six sons: Thomas, James, William, John, David and Laurence, together with seven daughters: Catherine, Elizabeth, Jean, Mary E., Rebecca, Margaret and Eleanor. Jean was born in Ireland and passed away on 13 June 1789 in Menallen Township, Pennsylvania.

Lawrence's Will was probated on 3/22/1790 and listed his wife, Jean McQuown, and children: Thomas, John, James, William, Catherine wife of Isaac Leany, Elizabeth wife of Able Harty, Mary wife of George McCreary, Jean wife of David Pantan, Rebecca wife of Benjamin Stewart, Margaret, Eleanor, David, and Lawrence.
