SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for Betty Young Brooks, 78, will be held at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel, Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. Officiating will be Reverend Ellen Montegudo and Reverend Willis Dear both of Christ United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery, Meriwether Road.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Tuesday, August 21, 2007 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Mrs. Brooks was born in Shreveport on June 23, 1929 to the late Louie and Estelle (Curry) Young. She passed away Sunday, August 19, 2007 in Shreveport. Mrs. Brooks was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and a former member of the "SWGA" Shreveport Women's Golf Association.
She was preceded in death by sons, Mike Brooks and Timothy Brooks and brother Ray Young. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 61 years, James "Tuck" Brooks; son Paul Brooks; daughter-in-law, Linda Brooks and husband, John Christiansen; grandchildren Chris Brooks and Amanda Brooks and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ben Warner, Jr., Travis Warner, Jim Parker, Walter Middlebrooks, Don Arnold, and Dick Jones.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 1204 Crabapple, Shreveport, LA 71118.
