Donald E. Anderson, 90, Wilton, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, at his home. Graveside services are 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton. The Rev. Judy Gingerich will officiate. Military Rites will be conducted by the Wilton American Legion Post 584. Visitation is noon-1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at Bentley Funeral Home, 302 W. Fifth St., Wilton. Memorials may be made to the Audubon Society. Mr. Anderson was born May 28, 1913, in Lime City, the son of Willard and Ethel Cunningham Anderson. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in North Africa and Italy. He was wounded twice and received the Purple Heart. His family was very proud of him and his service to his country. He was a rural mail carrier for many years in Wilton and enjoyed growing and selling apples from his orchard. His love of nature and rock collecting took him all over the country. Survivors include two sisters, Effie Wade and Lina Leach, both of Muscatine; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
