CHATFIELD -- The funeral for M.E. "Red" Fauver will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Chatfield Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Eric Finsand officiating. Burial will be in Chatfield Cemetery.
Mr. Fauver, 91, of Chatfield, a retired electrical worker, died Wednesday (Sept. 26, 2001) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester, where he had been a patient five days. He had resided at Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield since April 2000.
He was born Aug. 26, 1910, in Spring Valley and graduated from Spring Valley High School. On Dec. 7, 1940, he married Thelma Blagsvedt in Cresco, Iowa. During World War II, he served with the Navy in the Pacific and was discharged in November 1945. In April 1939 he started working for Interstate Power Co., worked for the company in Stewartville following the war and in 1956 was transferred to Fulda, Minn. In 1958 he transferred to Hills, Minn., retired as a district manager in 1975 and moved to Chatfield in 1977. In Hills he served on the council at his church and on the city council, and was active in the American Legion. He was a 60-year member of the Electrical Workers Union.
He is survived by his wife. Three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Friends may call an hour before the service Saturday at the church.
Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield is in charge of arrangements.
