Dr. Grace Murphy Tinker received her degree of the doctor of medicine in April of 1899. She registered to practice medicine in Ottowa County, KS in 1899. She and her husband Lathan eventually homesteaded land in New Mexico and were living there at the time New Mexico became a state. After Lathan's death, she eventually moved back to Kansas City with her three young boys.
