Services for Louis V. Rochholz, 93 of Davenport, were held 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 21 in The Runge Mortuary Chapel, Davenport, with the Rev. C.H. Meyer officiating. Kenneth Petersen was the organist and Sharon Wilhite was the vocalist. Pallbearers were Rocky Malone, Rod Rochholz, Kevin Rochholz, Todd Rochholz, Travis Cole and Bruce Rochholz. Honorary pallbearers were Dale Terhune and Rodney Johnson. Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery with military services provided by the Durant American Legion Post #430.

Mr. Rochholz died Friday, May 17, 2002, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Center, Davenport.

Louis Rochholz was born Dec. 9, 1908 in Cedar County, Iowa, the son of Harry and Meta (Heyden) Rochholz. He married Nora Schroeder on Sept. 27, 1933, in Tipton, Iowa. She died April 4, 2001.

Mr. Rochholz had been employed at the former Farmall Plant in Rock Island, ILL., for 32 years prior to retiring in 1968. Following his retirement he was employed at Home Hardware, Davenport, for 15 years.

Mr. Rochholz served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was a member of the Durant American Legion Post #430, and had served as assistant chief of Green Acres Fire Department, Davenport.

Memorials may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or the American Heart Association.

Servivors include a daughter, Trenna Malone, Davenport; sons, Gene and wife June, Muscatine, Rolland "Rod", Moline, ILL, Kenneth and wife Sharlynn, Walcott and Wendell and wife Wanda, Bettendorf, 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a sister, Violet Ziba, Tipton; and a brother, Arlie of Oregon.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard in December 2001; and two great-grandchildren.
