Thelma Eileen Adragna, beloved mother and long-time resident of Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Region, passed away peacefully on May 17th, 2012, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born in Mannington, West Virginia on July 26, 1923, the oldest of two daughters born to the late Roy and Laura Jones. Eileen, as she was known for most of her life, spent her formative years in her birthplace and in eastern Kansas where her father worked in the oil industry. She graduated from Leon High School and later attended college in Wichita, Kansas, where she graduated with a credential in Secretarial and Bookkeeping Arts. During World War II, she served as a clerical assistant in a medical office. After the war, her two sons, Gary Dean Prigmore and Daryl Ray Prigmore, were both born in Wichita. She then moved from Kansas to Utah and then to Colorado as her husband, Richard D. Prigmore, earned two college degrees in business. As a 60-year resident of the Colorado Springs area, Eileen continued her lifelong occupation as wife and mother, as well as assisting in her husband's various business ventures; however, her activities were concentrated around her church - second only to the welfare of her family. She and her family were among a select group of church members that were commissioned from the First Christian Church in 1957 to establish a new congregation in the newly-developing residential areas in North Colorado Springs. She, her husband and her two sons were charter members of Village Christian Church, and she was one of only five remaining active charter members before her recent passing. Eileen was also active in other public service organizations such as Eastern Star and Lady Lions, and she could frequently be found volunteering her time at the Biedelmann Nature Center and at Village Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and her second husband, Mike A. Adragna. Eileen leaves behind to cherish her memory her two sons, her only sister, as well as a host of other family members in New Mexico, Kansas, California, Oklahoma, Missouri and North Carolina. A large number of close friends living mostly in Colorado Springs and its environs will also miss her warm smile and her charming personality. Viewing of the deceased will take place at the Village Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 3113 Primrose Drive, Colorado Springs, at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, May 25, 2012, followed by a memorial service and celebration of life at 10:00 a.m. At the conclusion of the memorial service, those who wish may accompany the burial entourage to Evergreen Cemetery for a brief interment service, after which a fellowship hour (including lunch) and opportunities to share memories of Eileen will be held in the Fellowship Hall of the Village Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eileen's favorite institution, Village Christian Church, 3113 Primrose Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80907.
