Roy Coolidge Alexander, 98, of Vale passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Roy was born on April 4, 1925 to the late James Elam Alexander and Bessie Wilson Alexander in Iredell County. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Vale; formerly a member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church and St. Matthews Lutheran Church. Roy was a United States Army Veteran serving in World War II.

Along with his parents, his son-in-law, Charles Lane; great granddaughter, Maddie Green; and seven siblings preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife; Ethel Kiziah Alexander of the home; daughters, Marlane Laney and husband Mike of Vale, Judy Lane of Hickory; grandchildren, Meredith Dickerson and husband Brad, Nathan Lane, Maria Laney, Tara Cale and husband Shawn; great grandchildren, Keith, Cole, Bristol, Tyson, Matthew; sister-in-law, Ruth Kiziah; brother-in-law, Cecil Kiziah; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vale, 2700 Trinity Church Rd., Vale, NC 28168. The family will receive prior to the service from 1:00 until 1:45 at the church. Pastor Tommy Lineberger will officiate the service. Burial will follow at 4:00 pm at St. Matthews Lutheran Church Cemetery, 4681 Grace Chapel Rd, Granite Falls, NC 28630. Military Honors will be rendered at the graveside.
